The Big Idea: Provide an update on your team's game topic. What is the most important concept you want your players to learn?

 I want the player of my game to learn that homelessness is a problem and people should try their best to get people off of the streets. They will learn how to help a homeless person and what to do if you see one. I think that it is very important for my players to understand what homelessness really is.

Making Decisions as a Team: How did your team's ideas about the game topic change over time?

I am the only person in my team but I often change my mind on things and have to go back and change things.

Roles & Responsibilities: Tell us more about your team process. Please each talk about your specific roles, and how you work together.

 My role in my team is to make my game and do research on my topic.

Research: What kind of research went into your game topic? What did you learn about your topic? What message do you want the player to understand?

 I had to do alot of research for my game. I learned that there is many homeless people in the world and we should help. I want the player to learn that we need to help homeless people.

The User Experience: Explain the actions players take in your game. How do you play it? What decisions were made about features to include, and how did you decide?

The players just have to help the homeless person. The game play is fairly simple. 

Mastering Flash: What Flash resources have been most helpful in your learning so far, and why? How did you locate these resources?

 The code where you have to navigate between scenes is the code I used the most and it can be found on the wiki.

Overcoming Challenges: What curriculum topic has been most difficult for you so far? How did you overcome this difficulty? What programming features are you most proud of in your game?

I never really had any challenges with my game. The only problems I had was with the coding in my game, but once I asked someone like my teacher it got fixed.

Hello there my name is Jana and this is a blog. This is the coolest blog ever because I am making it and I am awesome. I am making this blog at my aunts house and I am drinking a juice box. It is a fruitables juice box and it tastes sort of weird but I am thirsty so I am going to drink it anyway. I like any kind of juice.

ALMOST FINISHED!!!!!!

HELLO THERE!!! I HAVE NOT MADE A BLOG IN A VERY LONG TIME, MOSTLY BECAUSE OF SPRING BREAK AND WE HAD CLUBS LAST WEEK. ANYWAY THIS IS A BLOG ON HOW FAR I AM IN MY GAME AND I AM ALMOST FINISHED SO I AM VERY HAPPY. AS OF RIGHT NOW I ONLY HAVE TO FINISH NINE MORE SCENES AND THEN I WILL BE COMPLETELY FINISHED, BUT IF I AM NOT FINISHED BY THURSDAY I WILL NOT BE ENTERED IN THE STEM COMPETITION AND THATS PRETTY MUCH THE WHOLE REASON WHY I AM MAKING MY GAME. THE WINNER OF THE COMPETITION GETS A LAPTOP OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I THINK THAT MY GAME LOOKS PRETTY COOL AND I ALSO THINK THAT MOST KIDS WILL LIKE IT. THIS IS MY GAME DEMO THING.  THIS WAS PRETTY EASY ONCE I GOT MY BUTTONS TO WORK. I JUST HAD TO  LINK EACH SCENE TOGETHER AND IT WORKED AFTER THAT. I COPIED AND PASTED THE TEXT FROM MY TEAM PAGE AND PUT IT ON A BACKGROUND THEN INSERTED A PICTURE. THATS  PRETTY MUCH ALL I DID. BYE!!!

GLOBALORIA IS REALLY FUN BUT SOMETIMES IT IS RATHER HARD. FOR EXAMPLE, THE GAME DEMO WAS CONFUSING BECAUSE YOU HAD TO PUT IN SEVERAL BUTTONS AND THE NAMES GOT MIXED UP FOR ME A FEW TIMES. I FINALLY GOT EVERYTHING WORKING BUT I CANT UPLOAD IT BECAUSE I SAVED TO TO MY COMPUTER INSTEAD OF MY FLASH DRIVE AND THE COMPUTERS HAVENT BEEN WORKING LATELY. ADDING MOUSE INPUT IS REALLY EASY AND FUN. I ENJOYED MAKING THIS EVEN THOUGH IT TOOK ME ABOUT A WEEK TO FINISH. I JUST HAD TO FIND THE RIGHT CODES AND MAKE THE SCENE. THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY FOR NOW BYE!!

ADDING SOUND

ADDING SOUND WAS ALSO VERY EASY. IT TOOK ONLY A DAY AND IT USUALLY TAKES ME ABOUT 3 OR 4 DAYS TO COMPLETE AN ASSINGMENT. I RECORDED MY VOICE TO INTRODUCE THE NEXT SCENE. I THINK THAT MY GAME IS GOING TO TURN VERY WELL AND I AM HAPPY TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

ADDING BUTTONS IS REALLY EASY. IT TOOK ME ABOUT TWO DAYS TO DO IT BUT I GOT IT AFTER I LEARNED WHAT TO DO. I JUST HAD TO CHANGE THE COLORS WHEN THE MOUSE WENT OVER THE BUTTON. I CHANGED THE PLAY BUTTON FROM BLACK TO RED AND I HAVE NOT GOT TO THE OTHER BUTTONS YET. IM SURE I WILL GET THEM SOONER OR LATER WELL WISH ME LUCK!!!!!! :)

GLOBAL WARMING, SO WHAT?

     What is global warming?  What is the greenhouse effect?  How do these things affect you and me?  These are very important questions that need to be answered.  Global warming is when the Earth's temperature rises above the average climate. This rise in the temperature causes icebergs to slowly melt giving the polar bears and many other animals no place for shelter.  We should come together to stop this terrible thing that is happening to our planet before it is too late for the polar bears.

     Global warming does not only impact the death of many polar bears ,but it also impacts where we live, what food we can grow, how and where we grow food, and where other organisms can live.  Although I believe that the polar bears are impacted the most from global warming.  Hundreds of polar bears are dead due to global warming because the heat is melting away most of the iceburgs and drifting off very far into the ocean.  Polar bears cannot swim for long distances so if they try to swim to land they drown.  This is a very tragic way to die for the polar bears so I think that we should try our best to help them.

     The greenhouse effect has alot to do with global warming.  The greenhouse effect is when water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other ''greenhouse'' gases in the atmosphere alter the return of energy to space and in turn change the temperature of the earths surface. Human activities also influence the greenhouse effect, because we burn substances such as, coal, oil, and natural gas, which releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  We can slow down the greenhouse effect by burning less fossil fuels.

     Global warming affects everyone.  We only have one planet for us to live on and if we didnt have this beautiful planet we would not be alive.  It can also affect human and animal health and welfare.  Some changes to the earths climate will be expanding desserts, drier soil, and more intense rainstorms.  Diseases will be harder to contain and control, so there is a higher chance of death because of illness.  These are just a few of the possible ways that global warming can affect us so it is very important that we keep our earth looking more beautiful than ever before.


     In conclusion, global warming is a very serious issue and the world should come together to stop it.  It can affect us in many ways and believe it or not, we are one of the main causes of global warming. The greenhouse effect is a very big influence on this issue also and we can slow down the process of it by using less fossil fuels.  Polar bears are on the edge of extinction and we need to protect them in any way possible.  Lets all come together to keep this planet more beautiful than when we came here.
